As a memorial for Chris and Rick, we've asked our cellist friend Daniel Hass to play two pieces in honor of our friends. Both pieces are from Bach's set of Cello Solo Suites.

The first piece will be the prelude to the Second Suite. Back wrote this piece on returning from a trip and finding that his beloved wife had died. This will be for Chris.

The second piece is the well-known prelude from the First Suite. It's a probably the piece you think of when you think of solo cello, and it's beautiful elegiac affirmation of twin strands of beauty and melancholy that informs our lives. This piece seemed to us be be appropriate for the gallant soul of Rick Windham.

Daniel is an accomplished cellist and a Julliard graduate. As a young cellist he performed on Chrisopher O'Reilly's FROM THE TOP and just appeared in a major international competition in Dubai.
